Stanbots

Stanbot 1.0 and its successor, Stanbot 2.0, are a pair of robot dragons modeled after Master Devlin, built by Widdle Frunkut. They serve as recurring characters in the Waldoverse.

Stanbot 1.0

Cobbled together from scrap metal and aluminum cans, the original Stanbot was created by Waldo to replace Master Devlin as his life mate after the Master faked his death and disappeared for five years to teach Waldo a lesson. Waldo attempted to train the robot, but it proved difficult due to its shoddy craftsmanship and dodgy operating system (Waldo OS).

When the Master eventually returned and revealed himself, Waldo quickly lost interest in Stanbot, relegating him to a recurring background character working in the Council library. The robot met its ultimate end during a terrorist attack on Harris Travers and Mayuri Shiina's wedding, orchestrated by her evil grandmother, Sayuki "Sing Kang" Waldo.

Stanbot 2.0

Built in the year 2528 AD during the first Future Arc, Stanbot 2.0 was constructed by Kaiser Waldo VII to replace Master Devlin once again—this time after the Master had been exiled from Waldonia and disappeared for 507 years. Appointed as the Emperor's Royal Vizier, Stanbot 2.0 was a shinier and more advanced version of its predecessor. However, despite ruling an intergalactic empire, Kaiser Waldo still made him on the cheap, relying on low-quality components.

Upon activation, Stanbot 2.0 developed a drinking problem, which he justified by claiming that alcohol dependency was written into his programming, although Waldo and even the Editor dispute this claim. Initially loyal to Waldo, the robot grew weary of his chaotic and irresponsible leadership, eventually turning against him. As with the first Stanbot, Master Devlin’s eventual return led to Stanbot 2.0 being discarded by Waldo.

Soon after, Stanbot 2.0 followed Waldo and Master Devlin back in time, arriving in 2022 to start a new life. Like his predecessor, he became a recurring character, often the subject of misfortune. The Editor, seemingly intent on making an example of Stanbot 2.0 for his disloyalty, routinely punished him by making him the victim of frequent kidnappings and abuse at the hands of various villains.

Stanbot 2.0 now serves as the front desk receptionist at the Masters Council HQ while attending AA meetings.
