Overview

Mayuri "Mayushii" Shiina (formerly Kaiserin Mayuri von Walverschmidt, Mayuri Waldo, and Mayuri Travers) is an immigrant from the Steins;Gate universe who went on to become a beloved major part of the Waldoverse. Originally introduced as the naive, new wife of Widdle Frunkut, she would later marry Harris Travers. Having weathered the turbulent trials and tribulations of being married to both goblins, she now serves as Waldonia's beloved Queen.

Physical Description

Mayuri is a pretty and petite Japanese woman with pale skin, black hair, and light‑blue eyes. Her gentle, youthful demeanor gives her a natural grace that contrasts sharply with her tumultuous history. She is known for her warm, approachable smile and expressive features.

As a commoner, she typically wore a light‑blue one‑piece dress and a hat. As Queen, she carries an air of serene elegance reflected in her refined clothing and regal bearing.

Personality

Mayuri Shiina is celebrated for her kindness, patience, and gentle nature. Though childlike and naive at times—traits that have made her vulnerable to exploitation—she remains a beacon of sweetness and innocence amid the Waldoverse’s chaos.

Despite her simplicity and eccentricities, she is surprisingly perceptive, often noticing details others overlook and showing strong emotional intuition. Her quirky, soft‑spoken demeanor hides a quiet resilience that has carried her through repeated hardship.

Her favourite food is chicken tenders, and she is an avid cosplayer.

Abilities and Unique Traits:

Time Travel: Mayuri retains her ability to operate a time‑traveling machine from the Steins;Gate universe. She uses this ability sparingly and with great discretion.

Future Prophecy: According to Professor Wooley, an older Mayuri is destined to become Empress of Waldonia again hundreds of years in the future, though the details remain unclear.

History

Imported from the Steins;Gate universe by Ed, Mayuri was introduced as Waldo’s newest wife from Japan—later retconned to be from Little Akiba, a Japanese neighborhood in Widdlington.

Her life in the Waldoverse has been marked by dramatic and often tragic events. Initially, as the stay‑at‑home wife of Waldo, she endured his chaotic and devious schemes with remarkable patience. Under Harris Travers, her life took a different turn: she first worked as a receptionist at his law firm, Travers & Travers, while also modelling part‑time for The Playpen. After the two married, she passed the bar and was elevated to partner in the newly renamed Travers, Travers & Shiina. Travers’ political rise soon followed, making her the mayor’s wife and later Empress when he elevated himself to Emperor.

However, being married to such a character also exposed her to further turmoil, and she often found herself caught in collateral chaos. This included injuries and story arcs including a brief stint as an amnesiac sex worker and a short‑lived bout of paraplegia. After Travers abdicated, she was left in charge and ultimately held a referendum, reforming Waldonia into a constitutional monarchy and becoming Queen as a symbolic figurehead and reform.

Current Status

Queen Mayuri I now serves as the benevolent ruler of Waldonia. Her leadership is defined by empathy, compassion, and a genuine commitment to her people’s well‑being. She has overseen Waldonia’s transition toward a constitutional monarchy and continues to advocate for democratic reforms. With her supportive husband Wesley and their child, Mildred, she navigates the complexities of her role with hope, determination, and her characteristic gentle spirit.

Notable Relationships:

• Wesley Wyndam-Pryce: An import from the Buffyverse and a member of the Masters Council. Wesley is Mayuri’s current husband and the father of their child, Mildred Kagari Shiina Wyndham‑Pryce von Walverschmidt. He first met Mayuri during one of his darker periods, when she was working as a sex worker due to amnesia and still technically married to Travers.

  Their paths crossed again during Travers’ reign as the mad Emperor, when Mayuri was wheelchair‑bound, and the two gradually formed a deep bond. After Travers’ abdication, their relationship solidified, eventually leading to marriage and the birth of their daughter. Together, they now serve as beloved monarchs, with Wesley providing stability, support, and partnership throughout Mayuri’s reign.

• Widdle Frunkut: Her ex-husband, whose chaotic and often malevolent behavior was a stark contrast to her gentle nature.


• Harris Travers: Her second ex-husband, whose sleazy antics and brief descent into tyranny further complicated her life.


• Master Devlin: Considered a father figure by Mayuri, he has been a guiding and supportive presence throughout her life in the Waldoverse.


• Ermintrude Maine-Anjou: Travers' faithfu, personal assistant. One of Mayuri's few female friends.


• Sayuki Waldo: Her grandmother, and wF's evil first wife, whose bitter and twisted nature left a dark legacy that Mayuri has struggled to overcome.


• Wilfred: Her beloved pet duck, whom she found injured in the park and nursed back to health. Wilfred is now considered the national animal of Waldonia.
