The Battle of McMurdo Station
Date: February 2, 2023
Location: McMurdo Station, Antarctica (renamed Birdonia 2.0)
Background
Tensions had been simmering in the Waldoverse for some time, culminating in the events that led to the Battle of McMurdo Station. A key factor in this unrest was the recent destruction of Master Base, a pivotal stronghold. This loss particularly enraged Master Devlin, who blamed Ed for the catastrophe. This event left Devlin simmering with anger, setting the stage for the conflict to come.
Amid this turmoil, McMurdo Station was overtaken by Reg Van Der Beak, a dictabird who had mysteriously acquired grotesque strength, rumored to be the result of nanomachines. Reg solidified his claim to power by defeating a cosmic entity buried deep in the Antarctic ice, a feat that led to his self-proclamation as the ruler of McMurdo Station, now renamed Birdonia 2.0. However, his reign was marred by old grudges, particularly his animosity toward Waldo and Master Devlin.
Upon their arrival at McMurdo Station, Waldo and Master Devlin were quickly imprisoned by Reg, who sought to exploit their already strained relationship and attempt to turn them against each other. The situation escalated when Ed, in a display of hubris, teleported several Waldoverse regulars from Widdlington to an assembly hall at McMurdo for a staff meeting. There, Ed revealed that the "studio" intended to take the series in a more diverse and inclusive direction with the help of a DEI consultant, Davina Rubin. The group was presented with a list of drastic and outlandishly woke changes designed to reshape the very fabric of the Waldoverse. These proposals were seen as a direct attack on the Waldoversian way of life, sparking widespread outrage among its inhabitants and leading to violent revolt.
Below are key documents from the assembly meeting at McMurdo Station, which sparked the Battle of McMurdo Station:

Battle Participants
Waldoversian Rebellion (Approximately 100 strong):
- Waldo
- Master Devlin
- Stanbot 1.0
- Barry Scott
- Mayuri Shiina
- Jonathan Frakes
- Gail Platt
- Tess von Hildendorf
Opposing Forces (Approximately 30 strong):
- Ed
- Reg Van Der Beak (who, by this point, was barely conscious, suffering from bird flu)
- Davina Rubin: The Diversity and Inclusion officer whose radical proposals ignited the rebellion
- Seth Goldenstein: Davina’s husband and a studio executive, who attempted to quell the uprising
The Battle
The battle erupted in the assembly hall of McMurdo Station when the Waldoversians, incensed by the absurd proposals, rose in defiance. Ed’s attempts to placate the crowd were futile, as the rebellion quickly escalated into violence. Reg, already incapacitated by bird flu, was unable to defend himself and was swiftly pulverized by the enraged rebels.
Waldo, leading the charge, urged the Waldoversians to burn down the assembly hall and take the fight outside. Master Devlin, in full dragon form, took to the skies, raining fire upon the station. The rebellion’s momentum proved unstoppable, and despite the arrival of Davina Rubin, Seth Goldenstein, and other studio executives in a helicopter, the rebellion was too powerful to suppress.
Casualties
Waldoversian Rebellion: Minimal casualties, though specifics are unclear.
Ed’s Forces: Total decimation. Davina Rubin, Seth Goldenstein, the four producers, and most of the scientists perished. Reg was left as a miserable puddle on the floor, and Ed was badly beaten.
Aftermath
The Battle of McMurdo Station ended in a decisive victory for the Waldoversian Rebellion. The proposed changes were not implemented, and the rebellion’s success solidified Waldo’s leadership and restored the original order of the Waldoverse. Despite being a god, Ed was badly beaten and went away to lick his wounds. Reg was seemingly obliterated but would return. The deaths of Rubin and Goldenstein had lasting consequences. This battle marked the dramatic conclusion of Waldoverse Season 2, with Waldo and Master Devlin reconciling their differences in the aftermath.
