Chantelle Devereux
Chantelle Devereux is the owner of The Sass Hole in Widdlington and a recurring character in the Waldoverse.
Appearance:
Chantelle Devereux is an attractive, Black woman in her 30s with a striking presence. Her short, styled hair complements her confident demeanor, and she carries herself with a blend of sass and strength that demands attention.
Background:
Originally from Charleston, South Carolina, Chantelle wound up in Widdlington, where she has become a well-known figure in the community. Despite the cultural shift, she has embraced her new surroundings with the same confidence and flair she brought from her roots.
Career and Business:
By trade, Chantelle was a stripper, but her life took a turn after the Nilbog Crisis. With the help of Harris Travers, a sleazy goblin lawyer with whom she shares an on-and-off relationship, she started her own business. She now owns and operates The Sass Hole Gentlemen's Club in South Wallywood, a popular spot that reflects her vibrant personality and business acumen.
Personality:
Chantelle is sassy, confident, and assertive. She speaks with a lively, exaggerated style that reflects her bold and confident personality, making her presence unmistakable. Beneath this bold exterior, she’s pragmatic and resilient. Chantelle has faced significant trauma, including the brutal death of her friend 'Destiny', who was mauled by demons during the Nilbog Crisis, and the overdose of one of her dancers, Ping Ling, just a few months later. Despite these losses, Chantelle has remained strong, continuing to run her business and support those around her.
Community Involvement:
In addition to her work at The Sass Hole, Chantelle has become a regular Page 3 Girl for The Waldopolis Chronicle. This role was taken on as a favour to Harris Travers, and in return, she receives advertising space for her club in the paper.
Currently, Chantelle stands as the only Black resident in Waldonia, following the deaths of the only other two, Moniqua Jay-Quellin Jones and Judge Marshall Stevens, both of whom were burned alive in separate incidents. This makes her both a unique and prominent figure within the community.
Chantelle was also briefly one of Widdle Frunkut's fiancées and concubines, residing in his warlord mansion during the Nilbog crisis.
